Passionate About Inclusion & Diversity

Parenting Support In Manchester

Who Are We?

We are The Parenting Collective CIC. We were started by three friends who have all had lived experience of the challenges of conceiving, pregnancy, birth, feeding and parenting. We know it's not easy! Using that knowledge and experience, we decided that providing parenting support in Manchester to families, from pregnancy through birth and beyond, was our life's calling and, now, we love getting to work every day! We're so passionate about inclusion and we know that diversity is our strength. The beauty of pregnancy and birth is something that crosses all borders, boundaries and cultures, so we're all working together to help new families have the best start to their new lives that they can.

About Us

What Do We Do?

We support our local communities around the city, by running Sling library support sessions, Baby wearing dance classes, Fourth Trimester support groups, private consultation, workshops, fundraising and signposting for new/vulnerable families, whilst working closely with local health authorities and groups. We also offer training for professionals who are learning how to provide parenting support, in Manchester and beyond.

Who Are We For?

In the past, parental support for new families has been reserved for only the privileged few. We're here to change that, as a majority black-owned business, providing our parenting support in Manchester for people from all backgrounds. Caring for your new child is something that everyone needs a helping hand with, and we're so excited to help you on your journey! It's always scary, starting something so new and so strange, but we're here to take your hand and guide you along the way.

Charity Of The Month

We have a unique opportunity to support the Wythenshawe Mother and Baby unit. They've welcomed us to bring our empowering initiatives, The Cake For Breakfast Club and Mama and Me Mindful Babywearing Dance classes, to their unit. However, we need your support to make this happen.
Why is this important to us? We're passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and safe space for these mums. Our team, including qualified Infant feeding support, peer supporters, Carrying Consultants, a Registered Midwife, and professional instructors, will provide valuable guidance and support.
Your donation will help us offer:
- Expert infant feeding advice from our Breastfeeding Counsellor and Peer supporters.
- A taste of the world 'outside' with our Mama and Me dance and mindfulness classes.
- Access to our sling library, along with babywearing advice and support.
- Sling hire for free or pay as you feel.
- Peer-to-peer listening and engagement, which helps offer reassurance that recovery is possible.
- Reduces feelings of shame, self-stigma, guilt, and isolation related to engaging in meaningful occupations.
- Empowers individuals to feel more confident when participating in activities that matter to them.
And, of course, there will be plenty of Cake! Your contribution will play a vital role in making these resources available to these mums during their time at the unit. Thank you for helping us make a positive impact on their lives
