What Is A Private Consultation?
Private consultations are usually taken with the intention of getting a more in-depth look at the different carrying techniques that can be used with your carrier (or one of ours), to learn skills such as back carrying or for some more intricate babywearing skills.
The majority of home consults take a minimum 1hr30mins from start to finish. The consultant arrives at your home, baby tends to need settling due to a new person in the home and sensing a change in the environment, we ask you questions and then would look at how you would usually fit your carrier. We would then give you a few different options of carrying and would demonstrate them for you. We then watch you with you imitating us putting on the carrier in these different ways until we find the best way for you. It is really important for us to go through certain safety information regarding babywearing, relating to your particular situation throughout the consultation. Following the consultation we would then send you information based on your consultation regarding safety, fit and tutorials demonstrating the techniques talked about.
If you think you only need a fit check with one or two carriers and are you able to attend one of our drop in sessions. Fit checks in session with your own carrier are £8. However, if you would like to take advantage of having a 1:1 consult then we can explore a few carriers and carrying techniques.
